Y. B. Chavan College of Pharmacy established by late Dr
Rafiq Zakaria in 1989 is a premier institute situated on the lush green
sprawling Dr Rafiq Zakaria Campus, Aurangabad. The College started its PG
Programs in 2006 due to the vision and tireless efforts of our Ex-Chairperson
late Dr Mrs. Fatma Zakaria. As a priority we provide inclusive education to
ensure educational equity to students from all sections of the society. Ever
since its inception the college has produced more than two thousand graduates
who are successful globally competent professionals, entrepreneurs and
individuals with high regards for social commitments and human values.
We realize that “Change is the only Constant” and thus
endeavor to keep pace with the changing times, we have an evolving educational
system and have adopted the outcome-based education (OBE) in teaching and
learning practices and moving towards a Criterion
Based Grading System. The College integrates its academic plans ranging
from curricular improvement to quality of classroom transaction into its larger
Institutional Developmental Plan (IDP)
College provides for optimum infrastructure, qualified,
competent and dedicated manpower. The curricula offered includes credit-based
courses and projects in the areas of community engagement and service,
environmental education, and value-based towards the attainment of a holistic
education. Faculties are encouraged to design their course module and
pedagogical approaches and make use of technological tools for teaching
learning activities.
Fostering Industry Institute Interactions through
functional MoU’s with the Industry and engaging the services of Industry
veterans have resulted in successful training and placements of our students.
In line with the NEP 2020, autonomous skilling courses
are offered to students through online/ blended mode, the college houses an
NPTEL local chapter.
Research projects leading to M.Pharm and PhD are underway
in significant areas of synthetic medicinal chemistry, formulation development,
reverse engineering, nano-formulation, basic and clinical pharmacology,
translational medicine, Phyto-pharmaceuticals and application of Artificial
Intelligence. Further we engage in multidisciplinary research endeavors with
appropriate integration of Indian knowledge systems to find solutions to
society's most pressing issues and challenges.
Course enrichment programs, community participation
through NSS units, eco-friendly activities and mentoring culture are adopted to
support students and augment abilities required for global competition.
Students’ performance is gauged by high pass percent and
academic achievement at national level examination such as GATE/GPAT/GAT-B, where
our students have consistently excelled.
In its quest for excellence the College consistently
unfolds and expands its vision to meet benchmarks and performance expectations.
College is reaccredited with A+ Grade by NAAC with a CGPA
of 3.36, it has achieved NIRF 2025 88th All India Rank, IIC 3 Star Certified by
Ministry of Education (MoE), it is ISO 21001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 certified.
College is recognized under section 2(f) & 12 (B) of
the UGC Act-1956, and it has been conferred with Autonomous status by UGC for a
period of 10 years from 2025-26 to 2034-2035.

outlook, through participative management; inputs are taken from all stake
holders to design strategies that ultimately enhance the best quality outcomes
for our students.
