Pharmacy Education Unit (PEU)

Objectives: PEU will organize Continuing Education Programs for pharmacy teachers like‘FDPs, Seminars, and Conferences in collaborations of professional bodies and educational institutes to help teachers to be updated on emerging trends in education and technology. The PEU will also identify, assign and promote teachers to engage online and blended mode training as resource persons at government and professional training programs.

Composition of PEU

PEU Guidelines and Scheme for Conducting Continuing Education Programs (CEP) for Pharmacy teachers

Rules of PEU and details of the scheme for conducting CEP for pharmacy teachers are given as under;

a) PEU shall conduct/participate in at least 10 programs for teachers per annum which will comprise of FDPs, Workshops/training programs/ Seminars, and Conferences in collaborations with professional bodies and educational institutes and government bodies.

b) PEU will generate the finance required for the CEP through grant generated from funding agencies and participants.

c) Participation for CEP i.e. the number of teachers in each workshop/training programme shall be limited to 30 only.

d) Participation in online FDP/Seminars will depend on the capacity of Platform used on first come (Registered) first basis.

e) PEU will make a list of Resource Persons along with list of topics to be covered in CEP with focus on teaching / learning methodology and pharmacy technology.

PEU will also promote institutes own resource persons for participation in professional and government sponsored FDP programs.

f) Duration of the FDP programs should not be less than 3 days while duration of workshops and Seminars will be between 1 to 2 days.

g) A tentative calendar for organizing events in the First and Second half of each academic year will be proposed for implementation through Activity Coordinators.

h) Activity coordinators may volunteer for the event of will be nominated by the Chairman of PEU.

i) Activity Coordinator may form a team, for requisite management of the event, communicate with resource persons, maintain the documentation/certification, list of participation and attendance records and submit the same along with activity report to the Chairman PEU after completion of the event.

j) PEU will meet a minimum of once every term (half yearly) to review the progress of events and presentation of action taken report.

k) The PEU will comprise of six members including the Chairman the members should be senior teachers in the cadre of at least Associate Professor or above.
