The Department of Pharmaceutics works to promote the safety and efficacy of drug products in therapeutics through inclusive teaching and transformative research in the drug delivery and formulation sciences.
The pharmaceutics department was established in the year 1989 and the post graduate course in pharmaceutics department was started in the year 2006. The Department also offers PhD in Pharmaceutics under the guidance of competent and highly experienced faculties.
The department is continuously engaged in research and academic activities. Since inception more than 300 students have completed M, Pharm. Till date more than 15 students have completed where as 25 students are perusing PhD from the department. Highly qualified and experienced faculties including two professors, two associate professor and six assistant professors are working in the department with commitment and dedication for academic and research contribution. The department is having state of art infrastructure, well equipped laboratories and ultramodern equipments for the students to peruse the research work.

- Novel drug delivery systems like SLN, Liposomes
- Targeted drug delivery system
- Naso-pulmonary, Gastroretentive, Pulsatile drug delivery system
- Nanotechnology based drug delivery system
- Solubility and permeability enhancement
- Crystal engineering and co-crystallization
- Co-processed Excipients
The laboratories have equipment like tablet Compression and Coating machine, Brookefield viscometer, HPLC, automated dissolution test, UV spectrophotometer, FTIR. The department has highly experienced faculty. The research outcome of the department include 10 patent applications, research consultancies, more than 200 research papers published in various international and national journals.
The students of the department are placed in F&D, R&D, DRA, QA and Production department with reputed Pharmaceutical Industries.
The highly collegial Departmental faculties, students and doctoral fellows pursue these multidisciplinary and translational goals through collaboration with industries and other academic institutions.
